Rameshbhai Raghubhai Gandhi, the founder of Rajwada Men's Wear, is the man behind a journey that began with very little but grew through determination, resilience and an unwavering commitment to building something of his own.
Born on 25 April 1974 in Vondh, Bhachau, Kutch, Rameshbhai's early life was marked by extraordinary challenges. At just 13 years of age, he lost both his mother and father, suddenly placing responsibilities toward his sister and younger brother on his young shoulders. Despite these difficult circumstances, he chose not to give up on his education. He continued his studies at Patel Boarding School in Bhachau, Kutch, and completed his SSC.
From Mumbai to Vapi: Starting from the Ground Up
With no established family business or business network to rely on, Rameshbhai left for Mumbai in search of work. His first job was as a load picker and helper at a general store.
His journey later brought him to Valsad, where he worked as a helper at the well-known Rajwadi Store for approximately three to four years. Those years became an important learning experience, giving him an understanding of men's clothing, customers and the retail business.
Eventually, Rameshbhai moved to Vapi, where he and his brother Hirji Patel began selling men's clothing through a small roadside business.
What started as a modest roadside venture became the foundation of a much larger family business.
The Beginning of Rajwada Men's Wear
Rameshbhai eventually rented a shop at the same location where Rajwada Men's Wear stands today.
The Rajwada of those early days was very different from the business customers know today. It began as a single ground-floor store operating from rented premises, with Rameshbhai and just one helper managing the business.
For approximately 20 years, Rajwada continued operating from rented premises. Throughout those years, Rameshbhai remained committed to moving the business forward, building relationships with customers and establishing trust within the community.
His journey reflects a simple but powerful philosophy: success is built step by step through hard work, consistency and trust.
Building a Family Legacy in Men's Fashion
Under Rameshbhai's leadership, the family business continued to grow.
In 2010, the family expanded its presence with Rajvir Men's Wear. In 2015, another chapter began with Raghuvir Men's Wear.
What had started with a young man working as a helper, followed by a small roadside clothing business, had grown into a family-led men's fashion and menswear business with multiple stores.
For Rameshbhai, the journey has always been about more than selling clothes. It has been about building lasting relationships with customers and creating a business that could continue serving generations.
Passing the Vision to the Next Generation
One of Rameshbhai's greatest achievements is seeing the next generation become part of the family business.
His sons, Parth Gandhi and Jigar Gandhi, have taken an active role in carrying the family's vision forward. With their involvement, Rajwada Men's Wear has entered a new chapter—combining the experience and values built over decades with modern approaches to men's fashion and retail.
The launch of the Rajwada Men's Wear online store represents another important step in that journey, taking the family's menswear legacy beyond its physical stores and making its collections accessible to customers across India.
